radiators

Plumbtraders is one of the UK's leading online suppliers of quality central heating radiators.

Having developed partnerships with most leading manufacturers of central heating radiators, we are able to offer customers an unrivalled selection of panel and designer radiators from radiator manufacturers such as Stelrad, Myson, Quinn and Rettig Purmo.

Radiators heat a home through the process of radiation and convection. Most heat is delivered by the convector or fins that are found at the back of the radiator facing the wall.

Radiators can be supplied in a diverse selection of shapes, styles and sizes and it is essential to select the correct specification to effectively heat each room.

At PlumbTraders, we offer a comprehensive range of radiators from the simple and straightforward to the very latest designer models. We also supply radiators from a number of market-leading manufacturers including Myson, Quinn, Rettig and Stelrad and can provide a solution whatever your requirements.

Single Panel Single Convector (also referred to as K1 or Type 11)

Single Panel Single Convector radiators are those that incorporate one front steel panel and a single convector or fin to the rear.

Radiator heat output is measured in British Thermal Units per hour (B.T.U.s/hr). For a central heating system to operate efficiently, the radiator fitted needs to have the required heat output capacity. To simplify selection, our website lists the heat outputs for each individual radiator that we sell.

Heat loss calculations can also be completed to help ascertain the required radiator size.

Double Panel Single Convector (also referred to as P+ or Type 21)

Double Panel Single Convector radiators come with two steel panels separated by a single convector or fin.

Radiator output is again measured in British Thermal Units per hour and the correct size of radiator should be chosen for each room in order to offer a cost-effective heating solution. Heat outputs for each of our Double Panel Single Convector radiators are detailed on our website. Heat loss calculations can also help customers to choose the most suitable radiators for any given room.

Double Panel Double Convector (also referred to as K2 or Type 22)

Double Panel Double Convector radiators offer two steel panels and two convectors or fins. The output of Double Panel Double Convector radiators is measured in British Thermal Units per hour and these are listed on our website for each model that we supply. Heat loss calculations are also useful in helping to establish the size of radiator required.

Fan Convectors

Hydronic Fan Convectors are most typically used in installations where space is restricted.

They connect to the central heating system and can be used to replace existing radiators. Electric Fan Convectors can also be supplied and these can be run independently from the main central heating system.

Hydronic/Electric Fan Convectors enable the user to seamlessly switch between the two power sources.

PlumbTraders is committed to providing customers with high quality products at competitive prices. As such, we’ve teamed up with Myson who are now our main supplier of Fan Convectors. Myson manufactures a wide range that is perfect for both domestic and commercial applications including Kickspace, a plinth option that can be used in most kitchens and bathrooms. Wall-hung models are also available for use in most other rooms within the home.

A choice of grille colours can be supplied to provide a beautifully co-ordinated finish.

Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRV’s)

TRV’s or Thermostatic Radiator Valves enable central heating to be carefully controlled to deliver the perfect temperature in every room.

They work via a sensor that can control the heat output of a radiator and can even be used to shut off radiators so that money isn’t wasted heating rooms that are seldom used.

PlumbTraders supplies Thermostatic Radiator Valves from respected manufacturers such as Danfoss, Honeywell and Drayton. TRV’s can be ordered individually to be fitted as an upgrade or replacement on existing radiators or in packs alongside a Lockshield Valve. These packs provide a convenient solution when installing new or replacing existing radiators. Chrome plated TRV’s meanwhile can be supplied for a more aesthetically pleasing finishing touch.

TRV’s are available to fit 8mm, 10mm and 15mm diameter pipework whilst some models come with adaptors for a universal solution.

Towel Rails

Towel rails are an increasingly popular choice in modern bathroom installations. Electric and plumbed in options are suitable for most domestic properties.

Electric towel rails are simple to fit but this must be undertaken by a qualified electrician. Plumbed in or wet towel rails are actually connected to the central heating system and work in much the same way as conventional radiators.

Dual Fuel towel rails offer a combination of the two in that they are plumbed in but incorporate an integral electrical element so that they work even when the central heating is turned off.

PlumbTraders offers a choice of Towel Rail from Myson, Stelrad and Quinn. Models include both traditional ladder type designs and more daring options and make a stylish addition wherever they are used.
